PRIORITIES...the game changer!

Believe me, I could find many excuses why I can't train or to eat unhealthy foods. How do I do it? PRIORITIES!

Have you ever done something that you never thought you could do? Or have you only smiled at the thought of doing it?

People constantly ask me, "How do you do it?" I don't really have an answer, "I just do. that's all."

I have no real answer except, there is no other option.

The point being that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, but the only one that can make things happen is you.

Do It For You

Believe me, I could find many excuses as to why I can't workout, or how easy it would be to buy prepackaged foods.

Having set a goal and an objective in my life to stay active and fit, I hold this challenge as my own. It is something I do, for me and me only. As a trainer, most of my daily life is consumed by working with others to help them get healthy.

Finding The Time

I plan my days and nights with my to-do list! Everything on the list pertains to my main goal.

I don't like letting myself down, nor others. So I let everyone know I'm going to do it...shout it to the world. That way, you've not only let yourself down, but everyone else. Getting my workout in and eating right is my responsibility, and if I can't get it done, then it is my fault.

Planning Your Days Ahead Of Time

Your to-do list should include time to workout. Planning your days ahead of time is crucial. Finding that hour to squeeze in a workout is sometimes difficult, but always possible. Think of how many hours you waste in front of the TV!

Efficiency and Multi-Tasking are other areas that need to be enforced. I know people who tell me I can't because I'm doing "X"...like laundry. Well, last time I did laundry after you change loads you have at least 45 minutes before you have
to change them again...that's a great time to get in a quick workout instead of watching TV.

With even the most negative of surroundings, whether from work or home, keeping a positive outlook on your goal is probably
most important.

Having that one written down set goal for yourself can make the difference, because no matter what happens outside of your goal setting, you have maintained the focus on you, even if for only one hour of the day.

Put Yourself First

I know this sounds bad, but family, friends and work can get in the way of your health. But let your health slide and who will take care of them and do your job? So putting yourself first is a priority.

If you don't have yourself ranked at the top of your priority list, your chances of accomplishment will decrease significantly. You may not have control over the outside circumstances, but you always maintain control of your goal. It too must be looked at from a positive perspective...after all, it is for you.
