The holidays can be hard on a lot of people, so I thought I'd send this out at a time of year when people tend to be extremely busy and forget about the things that mean the most to them.

Time is NOW to Plan for Your Best year EVER!!!

In my life priorities fall a lot differently than others. I don't watch the glass toilet (a.k.a. television), I don't have a lot of fancy things, I don't care what the neighbor thinks and my house looks "lived-in"...sometimes seriously lived-in ;)

But there are 3 things that I do make a top priority in my life. Exercise, Nutrition and Meditation. Why? Because without your health (physical and mental) you have nothing. So I thought I'd do a quickie blog on those three priorities near and dear to me to help anyone struggling with this area in their life.

EXERCISE:
Face it...exercise is a fact of life, just like any other daily task; washing your face, brushing your teeth, changing your clothes. You wouldn't eliminate any of those things, so why exercise? Join a gym NOW so you are ready to hit the ground running in January, or better yet, start today? Why wait? the time is never right, the planets never align in our favor, the kids are always asking for help and the bills and family...yep..they'll be there. Take time for yourself.

Get a grasp on your fitness goal and write it down! Better yet, write it everywhere! On sticky notes you post to your door as you walk outside, on your bathroom mirror...anywhere to remind you of what you want in 2016.

Be selfish about your exercise time. Make this one area you refuse to give up the time to something else, schedule it like you would anything else. This is your life, only you can make it happen.

NUTRITION:

  • Eat breakfast within one hour of waking every day in order to jump start your metabolism. Protein at breakfast helps you stay full until lunchtime.
  • Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full.
  • Pay attention to portion sizes; use smaller serving plates/bowls and measure out your servings.
  • Read serving information on packaging
  • Don't keep food in the house that you are too tempted to eat (chips, ice cream, etc).
  • Drink LOTS of water, aim for a gallon a day.
  • Eat food in it's purest form and avoid processed food. Think 5 ingredients or less and start reading labels.
  • Give yourself permission to fail and have "bad" days, get back on track.
  • If you do not feel you can do it on your own or have failed numerous times in the past, enlist help. Ask me. I'll help you!
MEDITATION:
  • Take 10 minutes to meditate. Tell yourself what you want out of life and make it happen.
  • Tell yourself something positive about YOU every day.
  • Volunteer and Pay It Forward!
  • Visualize success
  • Surround yourself with positive people, let go of negative ones (even if theyre family)
  • Don't define yourself by the number on the scale, set goals that include non-scale victories.
Be gracious and grateful for what you have.

Life is precious...

Smile! It looks good on you :)

Here's to your health!
