Infused Water Recipes

For those who just need something a little different than plain water; infused water!

Instantly infuse your water with herbs and fruits to make endless combinations of tasty and refreshing beverages...and...much healthier than those canned "natural flavoring" prepackaged garbage the stores carry.

You don't actually need a water bottle infuser, but it does make it easier. You can always strain your beverage through a strainer before drinking.

Water infusers come in many styles, on-the-go sports bottles to gallon and 5 gallon jugs. The choice is yours. Any one of them will work.

Follow your manufacturer's instructions, but the basics of infusing water is, add the herbs and fruit to the core, crush them a bit (most infusers have some sort of "flavor wand" to muddle the herbs), Fill with water and let sit for around 7 minutes. You can remove the core after around 7 minutes to avoid the herbs and fruits getting bitter.

Now for some refreshing recipes, I'm using the gallon just for recipe reference:

Ginger Lemon Water:2 large lemons, peeled and sliced
3" ginger root, peeled and sliced
Water

Add the ginger and lemon to the core of the infuser and muddle the ingredients to release their flavors. Add the water. Let sit up to 7 minutes. After 7 minutes remove the core. Enjoy.

Mango Tea:
64 oz. Brewed Tea
2 c mango peeled and cubed
Pure stevia or maple syrup to taste

Add the mango to the core of the infuser and muddle to release the flavor. Add the brewed tea. Let sit up to 7 minutes. After 7 minutes remove the core and add the sweetener to taste. Enjoy.

Strawberry Lemon Water:6 large strawberries hulled and sliced

1 lemon peeled and sliced
Water

Add the strawberries and lemon to the core of the infuser and muddle the ingredients to release their flavors. Add the water. Let sit up to 7 minutes. After 7 minutes remove the core. Enjoy.

Cucumber Mint Water:
8 or more mint leaves
1 lemon peeled and sliced
1/2 cucumber peeled and cubed

Water
Add the mint, cucumber and lemon to the core of the infuser and muddle the ingredients to release their flavors. Add the water. Let sit up to 7 minutes. After 7 minutes remove the core. Enjoy.

There are so many options to discover. The internet is a beautiful thing for recipe sharing. These are a few of my quick go-to's. What are your favorites?
